Smart Garden Products new logistics hub – the Eureka Building – is now officially open, offering its retail customers in the North, Midlands, and East Anglia increased access to the company’s innovative and bestselling product lines and ranges.

The 250,000-square foot warehouse facility – located just one minute off the A1 at Peterborough – is demonstrative of Smart’s unswerving commitment to achieving industry-leading service levels, stock availability and logistical support.

The bigger footprint will increase Smart Garden’s pallet storage by 400%, providing sufficient storage for Smart’s rapidly expanding product ranges. There will also be space aplenty for more lines to be added as ranges are extended and new categories introduced in the coming seasons.

In total, the creation of the Eureka Building represents a £20m investment for the market-leaders, and will facilitate in excess of £100m worth of annual sales, helping the Smart team to increase further its year-on-year growth which has exceeded 85% in the last 18 months alone.

Smart Garden’s Chairman, Paris Natar, said: “As our product offering continues to expand – with over 300 new products launching at Glee 2017 alone - it was vital that we have facilities that can meet this ongoing demand. We quickly outgrew our previous warehouse and looking at projected growth, we knew that we needed a significant building that would provide a central base for the long-term. The Eureka Building provides this and so much more. It’s an exciting proposition for both us and our customers.”

In addition to the warehousing facility, a new showroom will be opening at the Eureka Building in Spring 2018 to cater for customers in the North, Midlands and East Anglia. Southern and South-Western customers will continue to be served by Smart’s Abingdon showrooms.
