Double GIMA award winners Smart Garden Products eye further expansion

As a company that prides itself on delivering market leading customer service and best-selling products, there is no doubt that receiving industry accolades makes all the hard-work worthwhile. Just last week Smart Garden Products received two GIMA awards, including ‘Supplier of the Year’. Not wanting to rest on its laurels, it now plans to build on this success.

Building Sales
Smart Garden is now just weeks away from opening its new operations base, suitably named “The Eureka Building”. Set to open in October, this brand new hub demonstrates Smart’s unswerving commitment to achieving industry-leading service levels and stock availability.

With a 400% increase in pallet storage, the Eureka Building will provide sufficient storage for Smart’s existing ranges, with enough space for more lines to be added as ranges are added and evolved. In total, this £18.5m investment will facilitate in excess of £100 million worth of sales, helping the Smart team increase its year-on-year growth, which has exceeded 85% in the last 18 months alone.

Glee-ful offering for the 2018 season
Infrastructure apart, Smart Garden Products will also be living up to its reputation as the go-to supplier for the latest innovations from across the Solar Lighting and Garden Décor categories. Scooping the GIMA Garden Lighting, Water Feature & Ornamentation Award thanks to its Eureka! Retro Solar Lightbulb, the 2018 season will feature more of the same, with exciting extensions and new product revolutions confirmed across the full product portfolio. At Glee alone there will be over 300 new SKU’s joining the Smart Solar, Smart Garden, ChapelWood, Gro-Zone and Outside In families. Not to mention the addition of an exciting and colourful new brand!

It is within Garden Décor that Smart’s retail partners will see their biggest ever new offerings. A not-to-be-missed part of the company’s plans for Glee 2017, this range and brand development will tap into the rising trend for more decorative garden accessories, helping retailers exploit add-on and impulse buys.

Smart planning
Chairman Paris Natar added: “Standing still isn’t an option for us. Consumers continue to demand more and we want to provide our stockists with the products, tools and services to meet these growing needs. We have worked hard to achieve this, and receiving the GIMA Awards helps to drive us forward. Industry recognition gives us the determination to continue to develop an offering that provides stability and profitability in an ever-changing retail environment.”
