Get ready for National Nest Box Week

National Nest Box week takes place from 14th-21st February and is an important part of the ornithological calendar. The event encourages everyone to put up nest boxes in their garden or local area to promote and enhance biodiversity and conservation of our breeding birds and wildlife. National nest sites are quickly disappearing so taking part enables individuals to contribute to bird conservation.*

ChapelWood® offers a range of FSC certified Nest Boxes to provide homes for our feathered friends. Designed to cater for different nesting habitats, they are suitable for most gardens and budgets.

It is important to stock a range of nest boxes as different birds prefer different openings and there are several options to choose from. The popular Multi-hole nest box comes with three different faces to use for different birds and has thick cut wood for added insulation. The standard Nest Box comes in two variants; one suitable for most garden birds and the other an open front design specifically for Robins. Both have a side opening for easy cleaning.

To get children involved, the Paint Your Own Nest Box is perfect as it encourages children’s artistic flair as well as generating interest in wildlife. Whether as a gift or to decorate as a family activity, it is great value and comes with non-toxic paints.
